A Sampling of What's Happening at the Whitman County Library
 

Thursday May 18

Colfax – 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. – Wildlife Program – Everyone is invited to the Wildlife Fish & Game program with expert, Joey McCanna. This afterschool science program is most suited for ages 4 to adult. JES students may ride bus 8 to the library with a parental note. SNACKS INCLUDED!

Rosalia – 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. – Microsoft Imagine Academy Open House – Interested in improving your computer skills for school, work, or your personal life? Then stop in and see how we can help! Questions: Call 509-523-3109.

Colfax Hyde Out – 6:30 p.m. – WCL Trivia Night – Come play trivia at the Hyde Out, but don’t forget your library card! Endicott – 7 p.m. – Ladies Night – Movie Night! Popcorn will be provided feel free to bring your favorite movie snack!

Friday May 19

Malden – 11:30 to 1 p.m. – Caregiver Support Group – All paid and unpaid caregivers are welcome. We offer coffee and a light lunch with Rural Resources employee, Melissa Johnson (same time every 1st and 3rd Friday of month).

Colfax – 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. – Blood Drive – Find the hero in you and donate at the INBC Community Blood Drive! Make your appointment online at www.inbcsaves.org or call 800-423-0151. All those who donate are entered in to win a Grill!

Saturday May 20

Endicott – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Flea Market – Stop by the Library Booth to see all the fun programs lined up for summer reading and SPIN THE PRIZE WHEEL!

Garfield – 11 a.m. – Annual May Day & Book Sale – Parade and other exciting community events as well as vendors at the park including the library’s annual Book Sale!

Oakesdale – 1 p.m. – RSVP you and a friend for an afternoon tea at the library including complimentary refreshments. Seating is limited so call 509-285-4310 today!

Colfax – 2 to 4 p.m. – Drop-in Tech Saturday – EVERY SATURDAY drop into the TEK Center to get hands on help with basic computer skills, email, social media, OverDrive and more! Bring your device and questions to our WSU volunteer!

Monday May 22

Rosalia – 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. – Beginner Vinyasa Flow – People of all skill levels are invited to explore yoga during this new weekly class. Suggested donation $5 - $10 per person.

Tuesday May 23

Tekoa – 1:30 to 3 p.m. – Energy Assistance – Community Action Center will be assisting low income households in need of help with home energy costs. Call 1-800-482-3991 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Colfax TEK Center – 2 to 4 p.m. – Drop-in Tech Help – Bring your questions and devices to the for assistance!

Malden – 4 to 6 p.m. – LEGO Mindstorms EV3 (Intro) – Students grades 6 and above, come explore the world of robotics, learn basic programming, and compete in challenges. Call 569-3350 to reserve your robot today or pre-register online.

Wednesday May 24

Malden – 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. – Microsoft Imagine Academy Open House – Are you looking to refresh or learn new Microsoft skills? We can help! We have laptops as well as our library computers available for use.

Colfax – 6 p.m. – Tribute to Veterans – Join Friends of Hospice, Boy Scouts, and Whitman County Library as we honor our veterans and their families with a traditional folk music performance and book donation.

Colton – 6 p.m. – Book Club – Join us in discussing “A Reliable Wife” by Robert Goolrick! Everyone is welcome!

Palouse Caboose – 6:30 p.m. – WCL Trivia Night – Join us for TRIVIA NIGHT at Caboose! Bring your team, test your knowledge, and win great prizes! Remember your library cards for a bonus point!

Thursday May 25

Colfax – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. – H’Art of the Palouse Banner Reception – The community and all artists are invited to enjoy a reception for the 2017 Banner Contest and to view banner entries from the past seven years. The winners will be announced and prizes awarded. Refreshments will be served by the Art Council and Friends of the library.
