What's happening at the Colfax Branch Library
for the week of November 08, 2012

All branches of Whitman County Library will close Sunday, November 11 for Veteran’s Day. Materials will not be due that day and the library’s website services like online requesting, renewing, Livemocha, legal forms and a live chat librarian will still be available at the Whitman County Library website.

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear author Jim Lynch on Monday, November 12 at noon in the Colfax Library as part of Everybody Reads. Contact the library if you would like to order a lunch for the presentation. Attendees can also bring their own lunch or come just to listen.

Families are invited to a free PG movie screening on Wednesday, November 14 at 3 p.m. in the Colfax Library. Due to licensing restriction, residents should call the library at (509) 397-4366 for the title of this newly released Disney Pixar film.

Children in grades 1-4 are invited to Third Thursday on November 15 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Colfax Library. Participants will enjoy stories, games and snacks that pay tribute to turkeys, pilgrims and all things related to Thanksgiving.

Spanish Storytime for Niños comes to the Colfax Library on Saturday, November 17 at 2 p.m. This free lively, early learning bilingual program is every third Saturday of the month with a combination of books, finger plays and songs in both English and Spanish for children 3-7.

Fun educational classes for young children are each Thursday in the Colfax Library with Baby Time at 10:10 a.m., Toddler Time at 10:30 a.m. and Preschool Time at 11 a.m. Play and Learn classes are a more interactive version that includes parents and caregivers in the child’s learning experience each Friday from 10-11:30 a.m.

Carolyn Petersen from Washington State Library is hosting an electronic download workshop on Friday, November 16 from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Colfax Library. Join Petersen as she demonstrates how to use Washington Anytime Library and will have many different electronic devices in hand. November is a busy month for the Colfax Library.
