What's happening at the Colfax Branch Library
for the week of September 20, 2012

Dr. Gordon Wilson, entomologist, visits the Colfax Library on Thursday, September 20 at 3:30 p.m. for a special “Snakes Alive” program. This program is open to all students and home school kids grades 1-4. Jennings students may ride bus # 3 with a note from a parent or guardian. Due to our special guest, the library encourages all family members to attend this snake-sharing event.

Inland Northwest Blood Center and the Colfax Library are sponsoring a blood drive on Tuesday, September 25 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Visit www.inbcsaves.org to make an appointment or call Whitman County Library toll free at (877) 733-3375. Walk-ins are welcome!

The Colfax Library is screening a free PG-13 movie on Wednesday, September 26 at 1 p.m. This movie makes cinematic history as it unites the super hero team-up of a lifetime. No one under the age of 13 will be permitted unless accompanied by an adult or with prior consent. Please contact Sheri or Nichole at (509) 397-4366 for movie title and questions.

Help your child get a jumpstart on reading and school readiness each Thursday in the Colfax Library by bringing them to Baby Time at 10:10 a.m., Toddler Time at 10:30 a.m. and Preschool Time at 11 a.m. Playgroup, sponsored by the Department of Early Learning through Child Care Aware of Eastern WA, takes place each Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. for all young children and those who care for them.

Whitman County Library received the highest honors for Innovation and Services to the Community during a recent visit from Sam Reed, Washington’s Secretary of State.

September is the American Library Association’s “Library Card Sign Up Month.” Everyone signing up for a Whitman County Library card is entered for a chance to win one of two $25 gift certificates, sponsored the Friends of the Library, to be used at a local business of their choice.
