Upcoming Library Closure

All 14 branches of Whitman County Library will close August 5-11 for annual maintenance. During the weeklong closure, special projects will be performed that are difficult to complete when the library is open.

This year, most of the major work is set for Colfax where carpets and windows are getting a good cleaning, an aging phone system gets an upgrade and preparations for a "garage sale" in The Center will take place.
The sale in The Center will run August 12-30 during regular library hours and will also coincide with Colfax's community wide yard sales, set for August 16-18. For more information about Colfax's city wide sale, contact Colfax Chamber at 509-553-9173 or check the Garage Sale by Map (GSALR.com) online app.

During the library's weeklong closure, due dates for library materials have been extended and no late fines will be charged. Book drops will remain open in all locations for customer convenience. Access to the library's catalog, downloadable audio and e-books, Washington newspapers via NewsBank and other resources will still be available by visiting the library's website at www.whitco.lib.wa.us.

Libraries affected by the closure are: Albion, Colfax, Colton, Endicott, Farmington, Garfield, LaCrosse, Malden, Oakesdale, Palouse, Rosalia, St. John, Tekoa, and Uniontown. Residents may call the library at 397-4366 or toll-free at 1-877-733-3375 for information, details regarding the closure or renewal of materials.
