Tech Tuesdays

Wanting to feed your inner Geek or need to answer technology questions that sound like Greek? The Colfax Library is here to help! Everyone is invited to attend weekly Technology Tuesdays and Saturdays at the TEK Center. The TEK (Technology, Education and Knowledge) Center lab is located in the Bettie Steiger Community Enrichment Center and offers technology assistance and training for all skills and ages. Expert staff will be on hand to assist with a variety of technology questions or provide specific instruction.

 June/July 2017 Tech Tuesdays

Tech Tuesdays developed after a new lab was secured for The Bettie Steiger Community Enrichment Center. Known as the TEK Center, this “Technology, Education and Knowledge” center will provide a variety of classes and programs, both structured and unstructured for community members of all ages. Key to TEK Center will be Coding, Microsoft Imagine Academy, and other technology uses and instruction that help residents meet the changing parameters of today’s world. TEK Center funding was provided by Library Services and Technology Act funding administered by The Washington State Library.

TEK Center currently provides free WiFi, 8 laptops, projection capabilities, tables, chairs and access to a wide variety of library resources including experienced instructors, educational software, coding kits, Lego learning, online instructional programs and more. The library hopes that very soon TEK Center will provide the community with open lab times and also, be available to local businesses looking for a place to train their staff or for small business professionals looking for a place to highlight their online services.
