Summer Concert Series

Dream big.

Hank Cramer with guitar in pine woodsWhitman County Library announces the fourth annual Summer Concert Series set to visit 12 towns during the second week in July. WCL is welcoming Hank Cramer back after a three year absence. He's known for his booming bass voice, smooth picking on a vintage flat top guitar, and a wry sense of humor. Hank's repertoire is a mix of original, traditional, and contemporary folk songs. They tell the stories of cowboys, sailors, soldiers, miners, adventurers, and just plain drifters. He will draw as his experience as underground miner for some of the summer reading programs as a part of our Dig into Reading theme.

Once again Humanities Washington is supporting this series. According to Library Director Kristie Kirkpatrick, “It is because of support from organizations like Humanities Washington and the Friends of the Library that we are able to bring such quality programs to our smaller communities.”

Seven of the concerts are a part of regular summer reading programs with music for families including traditional songs and fun activities. The other five concerts are acoustic performances for the communities. Several will be held in outdoor venues.

The complete schedule of programs is available from the library’s Events Calendar at www.whitco.lib.wa.us or by calling 509-397-4366. Specific information about locations can also be found on each branch Facebook page.
