The Dusty BB Club is celebrating its 90th anniversary with a display of historic quilts May 1-28 at The Center at Colfax Library. Some of the quilts were made by members from about 1930 to 1945 with many of them being donated to various causes and needs. The group resumed making quilts again in 1975 at the request of the younger members who wanted to learn how to quilt and that continued until about 1993. Some of these quilts will also be on display.

Dusty BB Club is a women’s service and social group that formed on May 20, 1927 in the tiny farming community located 17 miles west of Colfax on Highway 26. Wikipedia boasts that today the town has 10 or 11 residents and 1 or 2 horses.

Sandy Passmore, BB Club president says, “These quilts were made with love and meant to be used. The older ones have been well loved, wrapping families in warmth.” Dusty BB Club members invite you to come see the historic quilts and the newer ones.

The Dusty BB Club Quilt exhibit at The Center at Colfax Library is open Mondays – Wednesdays, 10-8, Thursdays – Fridays 10-6 and Saturdays – Sundays 1-5 at 102 S. Main Street, Colfax WA 99111. For more information, call 509-397-4366.
