Celebrate Colfax Hullabaloo at the library Friday, October 05 and Saturday, October 6

A number of activities for children and adults are planned at the Colfax Library in celebration of Colfax Hullabaloo October 5-6. Colfax Hullabaloo is a community wide celebration that includes vendors, food, music, and lots more.

On Friday from 3-7 and Saturday 9-5, the Whitman Samplers will host The Harvest of Quilts show in the Norma McGregor Community Room. The Samplers are also offering $1 raffle tickets for a lovely queen sized quilt with proceeds benefiting a number of local charities. For more information about the show, raffle tickets or entering a quilt, contact Myrna Teade at 509-397-3132.

Also set for Friday and Saturday is a Pre-loved Art and Vintage Clothing Sale to benefit the Colfax Arts Council and Friends of the Library. Members of both groups have been busy collecting items to sell with proceeds benefiting the projects of these fine community organizations including the proposed Community Enrichment Center.

Saturday is a great day for kids to attend Hullabaloo with the library offering an all day Wii Sports tournament for all ages. Slinky the Clown will also be on hand with his amazing balloon animals from 11-12:30. Children’s author Marcy Campbell will also be on hand reading from her popular “Rosie” children’s series.

The Friends of the Library Booksale runs October 3-7 during library hours on the main floor of the library. Hundreds of books, movies and music CDs will be sold at bargain prices with proceeds benefiting library programs and services throughout Whitman County.
