Need help with home energy bills? Whitman County Library and Community Action Center are partnering together to bring energy assistance to the Uniontown Community. A Community Action Representative will be available to meet with community members at the Uniontown Library on Tuesday, December 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To qualify, a family’s annual income must meet the eligibility guidelines. To schedule an appointment, please contact Community Action toll free at (800) 482-3991.

The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) offers a one-time payment to help qualified Whitman County residents make their energy bills more affordable. The funding pays a portion of energy costs, but the payment is not intended to cover the yearly cost of a residence. All participants must provide the following information:

  • Social Security cards for everyone in the household
  • Photo ID for all adults
  • Proof of income (before taxes or deductions) for the previous three months
  • Current energy bill
  • If applicable – proof of college financial aid
  • If applicable – proof of child support payments
