Cyber Security Essentials

In today’s increasingly networked world, how can we keep ourselves and our information safe and secure? Michael J. McCully addresses these concerns in a presentation titled Cybersecurity Essentials for Work and Home at three local branches of Whitman County Library: Monday, September 18 – St. John Library at 5:30 p.m. ; Friday, September 22 – Endicott Library at 6 p.m.; Thursday, September 28 – Palouse Library at 6:30 p.m. During the presentation, McCully will provide practical advice that everyone needs to know including identity theft and phishing defenses, preventing Malware, common Web attacks, safely browsing the Internet, making secure purchases, recognizing an exploited computer, securing social media, hacking yourself first and more. McCully is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Information Systems Security Officer at National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA.)
