Chinese Culture series by Colfax’s own Jack McBride

Jack McBride will present A Tale of Five Cities: Exploring Chinese Culture at the Colfax Library in May as part of the CCS ACT2 Community Enrichment series. These classes run each Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. and cost is just $22 for the 5-week session.

During the class, participants will hear about the traditions and culture of individual regions of China, based on McBrides’s travels throughout the area teaching English to Chinese teachers. The classes will feature pictures, videos, books, special guests and open discussion will be encouraged. Jack says, “While I’m no an expert, I think I can provide valuable perspective.” Jack also promises a surprise ending at the conclusion of the class series.

McBride is a fixture in the Colfax Community having retired from Jennings Elementary School after 30 years of teaching. Jack has coached sports for even longer and at every level, including wrestling, football and track. While Jack is known for his coaching prowess, his former students attest to his love of reading and literature and his efforts to instill that value upon them.
