Child Development Hour

Join WHMC’s occupational-therapist, Bonnie Kirkpatrick, speech-language therapist, Cassidy Kobialka, and local toy-connoisseur, Robyn Johnson, for a brief presentation and play hour to discuss how specific toys can promote child development! July 12th, 2018 10:15am-11:00am at the Colfax Library Kids love playing with toys! Come to the Colfax Library on Thursday, July 12 to experience creative, educational toys that allow children to learn and explore through play. Join Whitman Hospital Medical Center’s occupational therapist, Bonnie Kirkpatrick, speech language therapist, Cassidy Kobialka, and toy connoisseur, Robyn Johnson, for a brief program and preschool play time from 10:15-11:00 a.m. A healthy snack is provided. Do you have a favorite childhood toy that brings back fond memories? Interestingly, adults use toys and play to form and strengthen social bonds, to teach, to remember, to explore relationships, to escape, to decorate their living and work spaces and in some cases, to collect for future prosperity. There is conclusive evidence that playing with toys develops crucial life skills and prepares young brains for the challenges of adulthood. There is no substitute for actively playing with toys, no matter what age you are! Bring your kids to the Colfax Library on July 12 to learn and play.
